Fourth of July Celebrations in the Kansas City Metro Area

It’s that time of the year when everyone celebrates our independence and what better way to celebrate than with the ones you love, doing what you love. Check out our list of top three events going on in and near Lee’s Summit.

1.       Legacy Blast Fireworks Extravaganza – Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is having a free fireworks show that will be choreographed to music and broadcasted on 94.9 KCMO. Come hungry and ready to be entertained! There will be food vendors, local entertainers and inflatables before the show.

Date: Thursday, July 3

Time: Parks opens at 6 pm and closes at 9 pm

Where: Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation

2.       KC Riverfest – The premiere Independence Day celebration! There will be food vendors, two music stages, KC Kite Club, beverage stands, children’s bounce houses, craft activities and interactive booths. Don’t miss out, get your tickets today!

Date: Friday, July 4

Time: Ongoing events from 4 pm to 11 pm

Where: Berkley Park on the River between the Heart of America and Paseo bridges

Cost: Tickets are $5, Children 12 and under are FREE

3.       The Big Bang! Jackson County’s 4^th of July Celebration – Known for the largest and most colorful fireworks finale in the Midwest. With water views, skydivers, carnival games and water balloon contests, there’s no better place to celebrate this holiday. Enjoy a FREE concert featuring the upcoming country stars, Backroad Anthem.

Date: Friday, July 4

Time: Gates open at 5:30 pm, Free Concert at 6:30 pm and Fireworks at 9:30 pm

Where: Longview Lake Beach

Cost: FREE
