Maybe she's born with it, but she certainly isn't driving with it!

Want to lower your chances of getting into a car accident? Stop grooming behind the wheel. Men, no more electric shaving!  Ladies, put the makeup down. Driving with these types of distractions, along with eating or using your cell phone significantly increases your chances of getting into an accident. Finish grooming before you leave the house-- because it's never worth the risk.

Top 6 Tips for Recent Grads Buying a New Buick or GMC

It’s finally here: college graduation. You’ve waited four (or more) long years to get to this point. It’s time to trade in your sweatpants for a nice pair of slacks and journey into the “real world.” One step in the quest to adulthood is buying your first car. It’s exciting yet daunting. We have compiled a list of tips to follow while hunting for that perfect new car as well used car.

Take your Time

Maybe you’re tired of driving that old clunker around town, or maybe you’re purchasing a car for the first time. Either way, don’t rush the process. Look at as many cars as you want and take notes so you can remember all the important facts. Car and Driver advises you not to purchase your car on the first visit. Take at least a night to think about your decision. You’ll be driving this new car for several years – you should be comfortable and happy with your decision.

Establish a Budget

When coming up with a budget for your car, consider all your monthly costs including rent, bills and student loans. This will help you stay within the limits of what you can afford so you don’t get in over your head with payments. Setting realistic goals will help you manage other financial areas, too.

Look for Incentives

Yes, you may be done with college, but you still have to do your homework. Many dealerships have incentive programs. Get to work – save some cash and get a good value by finding the perfect incentive program that fits your needs.

Take a Test Drive

A test drive is like trying on clothes – it can determine if the car is the right fit. Also, it gives you a better feel of the car’s quality, inside and out. During your test drive, be sure to test the brakes and lights while driving on both slow roads and busy freeways. Don’t forget to check out the passenger seats. The more time you spend with a car during a test drive, the more accurate your evaluation will be.

Buy from a Dealer

One of the advantages of buying from a dealer is scoring a car in good condition. Although buying online may seem cheaper, it’s not always the best option. Dealerships offer a safer environment and certified pre-owned cars in good condition. Plus, you can ask questions and the knowledgeable staff can answer them with ease.

Regular Maintenance

After you’ve purchased the perfect new Buick or GMC for you, you’re still not done. Regular service maintenance is a necessity if you want to get the most out of your car. Having the correct tire pressure, clean air filters and the right oil can save you money while preserving the environment, says the U.S. Department of Energy. Sometimes little things can save you big and keep your car performing at tip-top condition!

It's Fact-Or-Fiction Friday! True or False: It's best to wash your car when it's hot outside

FALSE!

If your car has been sitting in the sun or you’ve just taken it for a long drive, you should wait until it cools down before soaping up.  Park it in the shade for a couple of hours—or start with the interior.  A hot exterior speeds the drying of the soap and water.  While that may sound like a good thing, it makes washing more difficult because it increases the chance of spots and soap scum.  Avoid the hassle—wait until things cool off.
